Frequently Asked Questions About Our Commercial Pilates Reformers

Choosing the Right Commercial Pilates Reformer for Your Studio

A commercial Pilates reformer is a long-term investment in your timetable, not just a piece of equipment. Here's what separates our ranges, and how to work out which one suits your studio.

Commercial, Studio or Rehab Reformers: What's the Difference?

Not every Pilates reformer is built for the same job. Here's how our ranges differ:

  • Commercial Reformers: Our heaviest-duty option, engineered for high turnover and constant use across a full class timetable.
  • Studio Reformers: Built for boutique and group studios, with a carriage and spring system designed for daily, back-to-back class use across clients of different sizes and abilities.
  • Rehab Reformers: Designed for clinical settings, with lower step-on heights and adjustable resistance suited to injury recovery, post-surgical conditioning and clients who need a gentler entry point.
  • At-Home Reformers: The same build quality in a more compact footprint, ideal for a home studio or smaller space.

If your machines are in use most hours of the day, a commercial Pilates reformer is the range to start with.

Evolution Reformer™: Choosing Between 1, 2, Low and Studio

Within our Evolution Reformer™ range, the 1 and 2 series differ in frame construction, carriage travel and mobility, giving instructors a choice depending on the style of work they teach and how their space is used. Both series come in Studio and Low configurations, and the 1 series is also built in a Rehab height. The Low models sit closer to the ground, which some instructors prefer for spotting and hands-on cueing, while Studio height suits a more traditional setup. If you're not sure which combination suits your teaching style or client base, our team can talk you through it or arrange a demonstration so you can feel the difference yourself.

Setting is one way to narrow it down. Construction is the other. Those ranges start with your space; this one starts with the machine itself, and the three series we build it in.

  • Evolution Reformer™ 1: Finished in powder-coated metal and built in three heights: Low, Studio, and Rehab, which sits well above studio height so clients can get on and off with minimal effort. The 1 series also carries slightly longer carriage travel and one extra carriage stopper position, giving you a little more movement range and finer control over where the carriage comes to rest. Best for allied health clinics, and for studios teaching taller clients or full-range repertoire.
  • Evolution Reformer™ 2: Solid-framed and finished in white, with wheels fitted as standard on every model. Built in two heights, Low and Studio. Best for studios that move machines between rooms or reset the floor between classes, and for spaces where a cleaner, more substantial frame suits the room.
  • Wooden Reformers: Our timber-framed range, built as a Studio Reformer and a Rehab Reformer. Same engineering underneath, in solid timber rather than metal, for studios and clinics that want a warmer finish in the room.

Built for the Way Australian Studios Actually Work

Every commercial Pilates reformer we build is Australian-made, using timber and materials selected for long-term stability in Australian conditions, from humid coastal studios to drier inland climates. We work closely with instructors and physiotherapists here to refine details like spring tension, carriage glide and upholstery durability, so the equipment holds up to the realities of a full class timetable rather than just showroom conditions.

Who We Build For

Our commercial Pilates reformers are trusted across a range of settings throughout Australia:

  • Boutique and group studios running back-to-back reformer classes
  • Gyms and fitness centres adding reformer programming to an existing timetable
  • Allied health and rehab clinics needing adjustable, low-impact equipment
  • Multi-studio franchises equipping several locations at once

Fitting out a new studio, opening a second location or replacing a full floor of machines at once is a different purchase to buying a single reformer, so we quote it differently. We supply commercial Pilates reformers wholesale to multi-site operators, franchise groups, gyms and fitness centres across Australia, with bulk purchasing discounts available on larger orders.

Manufacturing here rather than importing means one team quotes, builds and delivers the order, and can schedule production around your fit-out or opening date. It also keeps specification consistent across sites, so a franchisee opening their fifth location gets the same machine as their first.

Tell us how many machines you need and when you need them and we will put a wholesale quote together, including a machine mix and floor layout for the space. Call (02) 9457 8880 or email info@pilatesequip.com.

Ready to Buy a Commercial Pilates Reformer Online?

You can buy a commercial Pilates reformer online now, shipped and backed by our Australian-based team. Every machine is covered by a 4-year warranty, with servicing and replacement parts handled here rather than routed through an overseas supplier, which is the part that matters most when a machine is earning its keep six days a week.

Not sure where to start? We offer on-site demonstrations and trials so you can test the resistance, glide and footprint before committing. Call us on (02) 9457 8880 or email info@pilatesequip.com, and we'll help you find the right fit for your studio, clinic or fitness centre.
